movies, movies, movies12:31 PM
I saw these movies weeks ago but completely forgot to blog about them! There seems to be a blue motif going on with the movie posters. If you're a movie lover out there and don't have Netflix I think you should! It's so cheap for the amount of movies we watch online instantly. Netflix should sponsor my blog with how much I talk about it! Wishful thinking :]
Frozen Mike and I decided to watch this movie late one night off Netflix. It's about three friends [two of whom are in a relationship] who go skiing and want to go on one last run before they leave. The park is shutting down so they beg the ski lift guy to let them go up. The whole movie we were screaming at the TV at the complete stupidity of the characters. One, deal with it. The park is closing, go home. Well it wouldn't be a movie if they didn't manage to convince the lift operator to let them go up. Just as you would think, things happen blah blah blah and the lift gets shut down when they are half way up the mountain and 100 feet off the ground. The day is Sunday and apparently this ski mountain is only open on the weekends. Hold up. What kind of ski resort is only open on the weekends? Fault number 2,375,978. Nevertheless, they are stuck on this ski lift for 5 days. They start getting all strategic and come up with this amazing plan [please note the immense sarcasm here]... to have one person JUMP and go get help. Now I live in Onio where it's flatter than a pancake so my ski resorts are nothing to get too excited about. The "mountains" are more like hills and the ski lifts are never more than 25 feet from the snow. With that being said, I wouldn't even want to jump from that far up, let alone jump off a 7 story building. Idiots. They should have just monkey-bar'ed it across the lift cord to the nearing pole. THAT HAS A LADDER FOR THAT EXACT REASON. But nope, the boyfriend jumps. Does he at least bend his knees and roll? No. So you can imagine what would happen to various limbs from such a high jump but I try to keep everything on here relatively PG so for the rest of the movie you'll just have to go rent it. But I'll leave you with this, it's not "scary" but it did give me nightmares and I had a weird feeling for the next three days. It's a good thing I don't plan on going skiing/snowboarding anytime soon.
Mike and I also had the bright idea of seeing Blue Valentine right before Valentine's Day. I knew it was going to be sad but I don't like Valentine's Day so it seemed like the perfect movie to watch lol. What I didn't know was that it would ruin my life. Seriously. I've never witnessed a more depressing movie. I walked out of the theater almost not believing in love. On the bright side however, I realized that Mike and I have the best relationship ever. Yeah, I think he's a total hottie :] but he's also my very best friend and we have a lot of fun doing just "friend" things. Something I can't say the couple in the movie did. But I don't want to spoil it anymore than I already have so if you want to know more you'll have to go see it!
